15 ways to painfully get rid of Jermaine Jenas

E-mail Print PDF

I don't know what exact moment it was when Manchester United visited White Hart Lane. I remember they were swarming all over our back four like like Hitler's tank battalions through Poland. By that time, I was already numb inside from watching us lob balls to Crouch with such desperation that it looked like nine lifeguards throwing life rings to a drowning man.

Why Corluka is Spurs' most important player

E-mail Print PDF

The modern football game in the twenty first century continues to throw up surprises. Conventional thinking on tactics, defending, attacking, holding a lead etc., keep getting tested and in some cases upended by alternately smart seasoned and bright uppity managers. It's a strange animal this game and like a chameleon it continues to change colors to reflect a continuously evolving sport.

Why Harry Redknapp will be fired by October

E-mail Print PDF

whyharryfiredbyoctober-01I bid thee Adieu Harry. So long.... And thanks for giving us one more year of Premier League. Yes you will be no more with us. Your firing is so close I can smell it like the inside of a subway train on its last stop of the day in the end of July.

What? Everything is great I hear you say? A promising second half of the season. An incredible record against the top 4 till the last two games. Indeed no European distraction means more time to focus on league games. Just two more players, maybe three and a good run without injuries and we can be giving the top 4 a run for their money....

This is how cheery the day must have been in Pompeii a minute before Vesuvius erupted and buried everyone under tons of ash.

If you want to truly learn about Spurs under Levy you could do worse then watch Groundhog Day the iconic 1993 comedy starring Bill Murray and Andie Macdowell in which Murray plays Phil Connors a TV weatherman who finds himself repeating the same day February 2nd over and over and over again. Well the Spurs Manager is Phil Connors and the Premier League season is our February 2nd. And we are destined to repeat it again and again and again and again and well.... You get the film err picture.

The Wembley Way

E-mail Print PDF

“We beat the Scum 5-1, we beat the Scum 5-1” rang all around Wembley Stadium in the wake of our monumental victory over the Roman Army. There was not a shadow of a doubt Tottenham fans thought which was the game that defined this trophy in the post Jol era. Senor Ramos had won his first major honour in just 4 months in the hot seat at N17, a feat not many managers past and present could attest to.

Yours truly together with my mate Sanjay had gotten ourselves a pair of complimentary tickets to witness this historical moment before our own eyes. Unfortunately, this came with a catch... we had to risk our lives in the Chelsea end at Wembley! It was the most adhoc trip ever in my life as we were not even sure if we had the tickets till a day after we touched down. Risky business some might say but it certainly paid off in the end.

  • lordjr : whiterhyno, Defoe is injured now, What say you? the pride of playing for your nation, if you are a s'porean, your country dont even take pride of choosing its own country man to represent :-P
  • wangdean : hope defoe's injury isn't too serious. if he can't play this wkend, who will be yr preferred frontmen? crouch n pav? crouch n keane? pav n keane? or just lone striker with van der Vardt playing in the hole behind him?
  • whiterhyno : You may not like it when our players play for NT's but it is that aspiration which helped drive them to become the top-level footballers they are. Have you ever been given the opportunity to represent your country?
  • lordjr : I am not sure what does Spurs gain from Defoe's hatrick. It might does his own morale good but we are also risking him. Mind that he was supposed to go on surgery or in another word he is not 100% fit
  • kataklinski : There is still Kaboul as a backup CD. Folks seem to forget about him!
  • limbei : so what about defoe, lordjr?
  • lordjr : So much pride of playing for your nation, now we have Dawson out for 2 mths and Lennon is having terrible hangover. I bet RVDV would be the same as well though he's injured for most part of the tournament
  • wangdean : With king as he is, gallas may end up being the regular CD for us, partnering bassong for e mid-week games n king for e weekends, if king's knees permits.
  • vinod25 : We need a defender fast as backup. Gallas is a good replacement. With KIng, it looks awesome.
  • reuters : dawson will be out for at least 6 weeks.. OMG!
